A Semester-End Getaway to Shimla: Friends, Food and Fun

After a busy semester, my friends and I decided to unwind with a casual trip to Shimla. We sat out for a 2 night and 3 day escape and booked a stay at Hosteller's, a cozy spot that didn't break the bank and gave us a great spot to chill and connect with other travelers.

Day 1: Exploring the heart of Shimla

After arriving, we checked in at Hosteller's. where we had booked a two-seater room for around 1500 Rs per night. the room was comfortable and well kept, and as a bonus, breakfast was included after check in. After fueling up, we headed out to explore the Ridge, the heart of Shimla, known for its lively vibe and beautiful views.

Our first cade stop was Wake & Cake, a small, charming place that matched Shimla's cozy vibe perfectly. Strolling around, we stumbled upon a cultural festival showcasing the flavors, music, and traditions of various Himachali districts. Sampling local food and enjoying the performances, it felt like a mini-tour of Himachal itself.

Back at Hosteller's, the evening got even better as we other travelers. I even played foosball for the first time, and it became the start of a few friendly competitions

Day 2: Cafe Hopping and Souvenir Shopping

With a list of must-visit spots in hand, we started the day at Simla Times cafe, a place with views that gave us a stunning glimpse of Shimla's mountain charm. Later, we dropped By Trishul Bakers, which, Honestly, was a bit overhyped- it didn't quite live up to the buzz, but it was an experience nonetheless!

In the afternoon, we spent time shopping for souvenirs and gifts, browsing local markets for the unique trinkets to bring back. We ended the day soaking up Shimla's nightlife with its crisp mountain and warm lights adding a magical vibe to the town. Back at Hosteller's , we wrapped up the night with more games and laughter with our new friends.

Day 3: The Journey Back

The next morning came all too soon. We checked out, booked a taxi to the bus stand, and left Shimla behind, feeling recharged and happy with memories of fantastic trip.

Shimla, with its blend of scenic beauty, cozy cafes, lively streets, and friendly locals, made for the perfect break after a long semester. We left with stories , new friendships, and a promise to return for another adventure.
